UAE authorities to utilize state-of-the-art digital technology to detect counterfeit products

The UAE government will increase cross-border collaboration to fight fraud and use cutting-edge digital technologies to identify fake goods. AI-powered enforcement tools and cooperation to tackle changing risks in international trade might also result from it.

These were the highlights of a seminar arranged by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department on consumer rights and growing the country's industries.

The following suggestions were made at the meeting to improve the market system:

- Increase the severity of administrative penalties for those who commit business fraud.

- Create state-of-the-art quality control facilities to guarantee the authenticity of your products.

- Increase the usage of digital tools for supply chain monitoring in real time.

- Boost public awareness initiatives to assist customers in spotting fake products.

Important national laws were also discussed, especially Federal Law No. (15) of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Federal Decree-Law No. (42) of 2023 on Combating Commercial Fraud. These provide the legislative framework for advancing sustainable development, guaranteeing ethical business practices, and bolstering consumer rights.
