Zayed Sustainability Prize announced that the 2025 cycle is now open for submissions

The UAE's ground-breaking international sustainability and humanitarian prize, the Zayed Sustainability Prize, has formally declared that nominations for the 2025 cycle are currently being accepted. Submissions may be made via the Prize's website until June 23, 2024 (https://zayedsustainabilityprize.com/).

The six categories of Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action, and Global High Schools are open to submissions from small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), non-profit organisations (NPOs), and high schools with sustainable solutions.

The Prize's funding has increased from $3.6 million to $5.9 million in response to the urgent climate issue and to further assist the UAE's efforts to expedite the real-world solutions required to spur climate action and improve vulnerable areas worldwide.

Each winner in the organisational categories of Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Climate Action will receive a $1 million prize from the Prize. Each school can apply for up to $150,000 under the Global High Schools category, which is divided into six geographical regions, to begin or continue their project.

The Americas, Europe & Central Asia, Middle East & North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and East Asia & Pacific are the six world regions included in the Global High Schools category.

During COP28 UAE, the most recent Zayed Sustainability Prize recipients were honoured during an awards ceremony.

The Zayed Sustainability Prize is a tribute to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late UAE founding father. The Prize seeks to promote sustainable development and humanitarian action by identifying and honouring businesses and educational institutions that are providing creative sustainable solutions in the areas of health, food, energy, water, climate action, and global high schools,

The Prize has improved the lives of 384 million people globally for more than 15 years thanks to its 117 recipients.
