UAEs new mandatory health insurance scheme will also help employers attract and retain the best talent

The new required health insurance programme in the UAE, which was unveiled earlier this week, would assist companies in luring and keeping the finest staff while also raising output and lowering attrition. 

But many firms will also see an increase in operating costs as a result of this new programme.

All UAE businesses, including those hiring domestic workers, will have to offer and cover the cost of their workers' insurance as of January 1, 2025. The Cabinet has adopted a new regulation requiring firms to cover their employees' health insurance when granting or renewing residence permits.
