UAE's Federal Tax Authority's new initiative; allows taxpayers to register for corporate tax via Government Service Centres and the EmaraTax digital platform
21 Mar 2024
NewsThe Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled a new programme that enables taxpayers to register for corporate tax through Government Service Centres and the round-the-clock "EmaraTax" digital platform. In order to encourage tax compliance, taxpayers can get help from certified tax agents listed on the FTA website. These facilities' well-trained employees provide excellent service and help with registration processes. Applicants obtain their Tax Registration Number (TRN) over email following data verification. In order to deliver this service and increase tax registration and compliance rates through effective and easily accessible channels, the FTA entered into cooperation agreements with government centres.
The Director-General of the Federal Tax Authority, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, stressed the need of meeting the deadlines for filing applications for Corporate Tax registration, emphasising that individuals holding licences issued in January and February had until May 31, 2024, to submit their applications.
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) reaffirmed that the EmaraTax digital platform offers corporate tax registration around-the-clock. The four-step, simplified process takes around 30 minutes to complete. VAT and Excise tax payers can go onto their accounts on EmaraTax, choose their taxpayer from the list, fill out the Corporate Tax registration form, and send in the necessary paperwork. A new user profile must be created for individuals who haven't registered; this may be done using the FTA's e-Services site. Following a few easy steps, users may identify the taxpayer and proceed with Corporate Tax registration once created.
