Short-term permit to practice launched in Dubai enabling visiting medical professionals to practice in UAE for three months

Dubai has announced a three-month "permit to practice" that allows visiting medical experts to practice in the UAE for three months. The announcement came on Wednesday at the ongoing Arab Health Congress 2024.

According to DHA, the temporary permission would help healthcare institutions in the emirate meet their demand for medical experts and have access to medical knowledge in specialist disciplines by creating a flexible work environment for visiting medical professionals.

Local medical facilities "need to apply for the permit if they wish to bring international medical expertise to the country for a short period of time," according to DHA. This implies that experts who do not reside in the UAE will not be able to apply directly for the service.
