Sharjah Cooperative Society allocates Dh35 million for Ramadan in 2024 and reduces prices of nearly 10,000 items

The Sharjah Cooperative Society said on Wednesday that it had set aside Dh35 million for the 2024 Ramadan holiday and slashed the cost of around 10,000 products. Nearly 80% of these products, according to the company, are necessities for eating and are offered at its 67 locations around the Emirate. There will be price drops of up to 75% on staple foods including rice, wheat, and cooking oil.

The retailer is also looking at introducing drive-through shopping options to alleviate traffic congestion and provide greater convenience to customers.

On Tuesday, Dubai-based retailer Union Coop also announced discounts of up to 75 per cent on 4,000 items between 50 per cent to 75 per cent. To ease traffic and provide consumers more convenience, the business is also considering adding drive-through shopping alternatives.

Union Coop, the retailer with headquarters in Dubai, also revealed discounts of up to 75% on 4,000 goods that were marked down between 50% and 75% on Tuesday.
