Sharjah Media City (Shams) announced that the Shams eSports Championship will take place from August 23 to August 25, 2024. Over the course of three days, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the championship will take place. On the first day, FIFA 24, Super Smash Bros. will be played, and on the second, Tekken 8.
A total of Dh30,000 in prizes will be awarded, with Dh10,000 going to the best 6 players in each game each day. It is anticipated that roughly 300 people would take part.
In collaboration with Sharjah Summer Promotions, Shams Business Centre will host the championship.
Sharjah Media City's Acting Director of Media Projects Development, Alia Al Suwaidi, reaffirmed that the Shams E-Sports Championship is a part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen Sharjah's standing as a leading hub for the gaming and e-sports sectors. The speaker went on to say that Shams works tirelessly to identify and nurture the next generation of talent.
