New reservoir connected to Dubai’s water network with a storage capacity of 120 MIG

A new reservoir with a storage capacity of 120 million imperial gallons (MIG) has been connected to Dubai's water network, officials revealed on Friday. The reservoir, which was created at a cost of Dh287.8 million in the Enkhali area, would "increase the water storage capacity" of the emirate, according to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.

This reservoir is connected to others in Lusaily, Hassyan, and Hatta. "When the reservoirs are completed, the storage capacity will reach 1121.3 MIG of desalinated water, compared to the current capacity of 1001.3 MIG," according to Dewa.

These reservoirs complement the desalinated water Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) project, which is currently in its second phase. The full-scale ASR project when completed by 2025, will be capable of storing up to 6,000 million imperial gallons of water.
