New project to help tourists to UAE get health insurance as they apply for their visas

It was revealed on Monday that a new scheme would soon assist visitors to the United Arab Emirates in obtaining health insurance as they apply for their visas. One of the "transformative projects" of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) is "health insurance for tourist visas." 

The initiative will assist travellers in obtaining health insurance while submitting an online visa application via the ICP website or app, according to Major-General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, director-general of the body.

The initiative intends to provide emergency medical coverage. It will use an electronic platform to "manage the pricing and issuance" of health insurance packages from all the main UAE insurance firms, automating the application process.
