New federal law in UAE making amendments to the classification of vehicles and use of modern technologies on the roads

NewsSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates as well as the Ruler of Dubai, announced on Monday that the UAE Cabinet has passed a new federal law on traffic.
The employment of contemporary technologies on the roads and the classification of automobiles will both change as a result of the new regulation. This action is intended to stay up with the worldwide transportation industry's rapid development.
According to the Dubai Ruler, the new laws would address the growing usage of electric and self-driving cars. The law will also consider dependency on transportation in general and different kinds of personal transportation.
The clauses also address car insurance and inspection policies, driving school rules, suspension of licenses and permits, and categories who are not eligible to receive driving licenses.
The nation's road network's technology advancements will be used by the federal traffic law.
Sheikh Mohammed made this law public following his chairing of the UAE Cabinet meeting, when a number of topics were deliberated and decided upon in keeping with the nation's development-oriented goals.
