New fare family by Air India Express will give travellers baggage allowance of up to 40kg

Passengers on Air India Express now have the choice to travel light and save money on their airline tickets. With the introduction of a new pricing family, low-cost airline Air India Express offers passengers the choice of checking in with no luggage or an increased baggage limit of up to 40 kilogrammes. The most affordable option for travellers flying with the airline is the cabin baggage-only cost, which is provided by Xpress Lite.

The new fare categories which applies to flights to and from the UAE and other international destinations are:

• Xpress Value
• Xpress Lite
• Xpress Flex
• Xpress Biz

While Xpress Flex allows for unlimited changes without incurring change costs, Xpress Value pricing only permits 15 kg of checked baggage. Priority services, free meals, and business class seats are included with Xpress Biz.

The airline, which is a division of Air India and a member of the Tata Group, launched Xpress Lite on February 20 for travellers from the UAE who wish to fly without checking in luggage. 

The recently delivered Air India Express Boeing 737-8 planes offer Xpress Biz rates. When purchasing Xpress Biz prices, passengers can benefit from higher luggage limits of 25 kg for domestic flights and 40 kg for international flights. Priority baggage claim, boarding, and check-in are all included in this ticket. 

Over 70 routes in India are already served by Air India Express aircraft equipped with business seats.
