On Thursday, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that the Mashreq Metro Station will henceforth be known as Insurance Market Metro Station. Strategically situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, the station is on the Red Line, running between the Metro Stations of Dubai Internet City and the Mall of The Emirates.
The Metro station's name will remain in effect for ten years.
During the September to November transition period, RTA has updated the smart and electronic systems of the public transport network, including the audio announcement on board the metro trains. They have also modified the external signage.
The RTA has requested that passengers take note of the station's new name. If riders need any help or explanation, they can speak with RTA workers at the stations.
