IndiGo airline will shortly begin flight service to Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, thus strengthening the connectivity between Dubai and India
The city will get its first foreign flights with the operations started by the low-cost airline from India. Beginning on Monday, May 15, flights between Bhubaneswar (BBI) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) will start operating, with tickets costing as little as Dhs447. It will take just over four hours for nonstop travel.
It is a remarkable improvement considering that previous trips to Bhubaneswar, Odisha, required connecting flights and would take up to 14 hours.
The state chief minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, stated: "Our administration has made connectivity a priority because it is the key to development.
"Direct connectivity will open up a gateway to the world with Dubai, which is one of the largest aviation hubs.
Odisha has long yearned for direct trips abroad. Currently, connecting flights from Indian towns like Delhi and Kolkata are the only ways for the state to travel abroad.
Bhubaneswar will now offer direct flights to Dubai alongside the other Indian hubs listed below:
Ahmedabad
Bengaluru
Chennai
Delhi
Hyderabad
Kochi
Kolkata
Mumbai
Dubai International’s influence and reputation continues to grow with it ranking first globally for the 9th consecutive year as the world’s busiest airport by international traffic in 2022.
The first aircraft from Larnaca by Cyprus Airways was also welcomed at DXB in March.
The airline is currently flying three times per week between the two cities on a 180-seat Airbus A320 aeroplane.
More than 85 international airlines presently connect DXB to 230 destinations in more than 95 countries.
