The United Arab Emirates holds the most powerful passport in the world. The UAE passport has topped the Arnot Capital Global Passport Power rankings for 2024. The UAE has topped the rankings for the fourth year in a row.
Emiratis can travel visa-free to 133 countries, claim visa-on-arrival in another 47 countries, and only need to arrange a pre-approved visa for 18 countries.
UAE passport holders are eligible for a Schengen visa waiver, which permits them to travel to 26 European countries and five other Gulf Cooperation Council countries without a visa.
The annual power rating assesses how easy it is to travel between nations with each passport.
Obtaining a UAE passport, however, is not easy.
Being a citizen of the UAE is one way to obtain a UAE passport. Citizenship is only available to a small number of non-nationals, but it can be obtained.
Non-nationals who could obtain UAE citizenship are:
- Investors
- Doctors and specialists.
- Inventors and Scientists
- Intellectuals and those with artistic talents.
- If you are the dependant wife of an Emirati citizen, you may be eligible for a UAE passport.
Finally, if you are a newborn child of UAE citizens, you can obtain a UAE passport.
