Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced a fare reduction for the Dubai ‘Bus-On-Demand’ service in the Business Bay area, started in December 20.
This move aligns with RTA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s public transportation system, foster better connectivity between various modes of transport, and promote the use of efficient and timely bus services.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, stated: “Although the demand for this service in Business Bay is high, we have decided to reduce the fare from Dh5 to Dh2 to make it more economical and accessible for a wider section of the community. Furthermore, we aim to extend the service to 10 areas by the end of the first half of 2025, supported by a fleet of 41 buses."
