21 Dec 2024
NewsStarting in January, electric car owners in the United Arab Emirates who use public charging stations will be subject to tariffs of Dh1.2 per kWh plus VAT for DC chargers and Dh0.7 per kWh for AC chargers.
Public EV charging rates are uniform in UAE. These prices were issued by the UAE in May. (Public charging was free between then and January.)
The UAEV network, which is entirely controlled by the UAE government, will have 1,000 chargers spread across the country's roadways, transportation hubs, and metropolitan areas by 2030.
The construction of EV public charging networks in the United Arab Emirates has been assigned to a number of organizations. This includes a joint venture with ADNOC Distribution and DEWA in Dubai.
UAEV has also released a smartphone app that gives customers information about nearby EV charging stations, real-time status updates, and simple payment options.
Additionally, there will be a specialized call center open around-the-clock to offer immediate help and support.
