ICP announced a grace period for individuals violating residency regulations in UAE starting from September 1

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has announced a grace period for those who break UAE residence laws. This effort will relieve violators from financial penalties under the Federal Law on the Entry and Residency of Foreigners, effective September 1, 2024, and last two months. 

Violators are free to depart the country or regularise their status within this time without incurring penalties or legal repercussions. This procedure will be facilitated by the ICP, which will also make sure that all required steps are taken to enable people in easily changing their status or leaving the UAE.

The program offers offenders a chance to comply with the law and take into account their particular circumstances, reflecting the UAE's dedication to compassion and tolerance. This grace period is intended to promote compliance and the regularisation of legal status by easing the burden on those who have overstayed their visas or broken other residence regulations.
