NewsA new era of tourism in the GCC is about to begin with the arrival of a common tourism visa. Residents in Dubai can travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia effortlessly as the plans appear to be modelled after Europe's Schengen system. Early in October, following a regional ministers' conference at the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah, the idea was overwhelmingly accepted.
The Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, verified the formal clearance of the visa during a meeting of regional interior ministers on Wednesday, November 8, during the GCC summit in Muscat, Oman.
Another update is that a single electronic tourist visa has been granted by Saudi Arabia for citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council nations. Following a meeting in Doha on Tuesday, December 5, the Supreme Council of the GCC gave the information on Wednesday, December 6, as per reports.
The visa will be made available in 2024–2025. The development of the precise laws and regulations about the visa is the next stage, according to a statement made by Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
