Travellers can now opt to take a bus from Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE to Musandam in Oman and explore the region there. In order to run a bus transit route between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and the Governorate of Musandam, the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and the Municipality of Musandam inked a cooperation agreement.
The first international public bus service between the Sultanate of Oman's Governorate of Musandam and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah was launched, according to the government. The launch happened after the agreement was signed in the Governorate of Musandam's administrative centre to improve travel between the two nations for people and visitors,
The agreement was signed on behalf of RAKTA by Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, in the presence of Sayyed Ibrahim bin Said bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi, the Governor of Musandam. Eng. Nasser Al Hosani, Director General of the Musandam Municipality, signed the agreement on behalf of the Musandam Governorate. The introduction of this service is in line with RAKTA's strategic objectives to advance shared mobility as a sustainable land transportation option by offering safe, dependable, and intelligent transport modes.
