Fourth edition of ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ festival inaugurated

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), launched the fourth edition of the 'Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert' festival. The event, hosted by Dubai Culture at the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve, aims to improve the local cinema industry by providing an innovative platform that encourages outstanding creatives, allowing them to express their views and present their works and projects to a larger audience.

The festival, which is part of Dubai's Quality of Life Strategy 2033, will screen more than 80 feature films. The event, themed 'Where Stories Come to Life,' will run until January 12 and will include interactive workshops, panel discussions, and presentations with a prominent collection of filmmakers, artists, and film industry experts.

The festival's agenda includes over 30 workshops given by famous creatives and movie specialists, four of which are organised by Zayed University's College of Arts and Creative Enterprises. It also provides a broad range of seminars, panel discussions, and events designed to inspire young people and encourage them to pursue professional careers in the film and arts industries.
