Festivities at Global Village kicked off with a vibrant Al Yola dance, an Emirati folk art

Dubai's Global Village is officially open. The attraction, open until May 11, 2025, has 30 pavilions representing over 90 different cultures.

A lively performance of the Emirati folk dance Al Yola, along with a song honouring the Global Village's ethos, opened the festivities. At the front gate, a clown delighted the gathering by interacting with kids and making them laugh. The excitement escalated when the area was blanketed with multicoloured confetti. The joyful mood was further heightened by a vibrant band that marched across the area while flying Global Village flags in all colours playing drums and singing upbeat songs, officially kicking off the new season.

For the current season, 200 rides, games, and attractions in addition to over 3,500 retail stores, 250 food options, 40,000 performances, and more are included.

A new dragon "twice the size" of the one that was featured in the last season of Dragon Lake has returned. There will be a laser and fire display at the lake, and every Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m., fireworks will light up the sky.

Three new pavilions have been added: Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, Jordan, and Iraq. The latest feature for this season is a 3D projection located within the Gate of the World's departure dome.

This year's additions include the Restaurant Plaza, which has eleven two-story eateries. It faces the central stage, which is the venue for live performances and shows. In addition to double-story kiosks built on Fiesta Street, the destination's Railway and Floating markets have undergone renovations.

A stunt performance including a cyber city danger zone will feature stunts that defy gravity and speed. International performers including AAINJAA, MALEVO, African Footprint, and Urban Crew will perform on the main stage.

Weekday tickets are available for Dh25 from Sunday through Thursday (not including public holidays). 'Any Day' tickets are Dh30. It is ladies-only and family day on Tuesdays.
