Dubai's RTA to launch 17 projects; aims to raise Dh16.8 billion for their Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) plans to fundraise Dh16.8 billion for its Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030 by launching 17 projects. With this initiative, the authority's direct economic contribution to Dubai is expected to increase from Dh8.5 billion in 2021 to twice that amount.

The authority hopes to reduce the number of traffic-related deaths each year and use contemporary technologies by 75%. The authority will employ zero-emission cars, cutting carbon emissions by thirty percent.

Projects like the use of tachographs on heavy trucks, the availability of driverless cars and tow trucks, the establishment of the Commercial Transport and Logistics Forum, participation in pertinent international federations, and the formation of the National Committee for Small Vehicles were all included in the Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030.

The authority will create value-added permits, no objection certificates, heavy freight services platform, aftermarket platform, road freight data centre, driver behaviour monitoring, and updates to heavy and light truck fleets in the future. It will also develop digital platforms to support the commercial transport and logistics industry.
