Dubai Municipality announced its plans to manage hygiene and community services during Eid Al Fitr holiday in the emirate

Dubai Municipality revealed its plans to oversee community services and cleanliness during the emirate's Eid Al Fitr holidays, based on sustainable waste management. The Civic body said that 2,300 cleaners, outfitted with all the tools and equipment needed for the job, will be in charge of hygiene services across the Emirate. They will work four shifts.

Furthermore, the Municipality has contracted with 650 private sector hygiene engineers to handle cleanliness-related activities in industrial, tourism, and desert regions. About 250 supervising personnel will be part of the teams to oversee hygienic duties and finish closing emergency field communications.

The Dubai Municipality has also assigned a field team of 84 people, consisting of 12 supervisors and 72 cleaners, who will work three shifts a day to maintain the cleanliness and sustainability of public beaches in Dubai while offering beachgoers, residents and visitors, a unique experience during the Eid holiday. This is in order to preserve the environmental and hygienic conditions of public beaches in the emirate of Dubai.

About 752 vehicles and pieces of equipment have been deployed by the Municipality; they include 311 heavy vehicles, 158 light vehicles, 176 rental cars, 77 heavy pieces of equipment connected to hygiene boats, and 30 light pieces of equipment that are all accessible upon request. The automated fleet's typical daily schedule for the Eid holidays will be 456 to handle complaints and communications, finish off the city's cleanliness responsibilities, and carry out daily field monitoring activities.

57 cleaners and 5 supervising and monitoring staff have been assembled by Dubai Municipality to maintain important roads and highways clean throughout the first few days of Eid Al Fitr. The crew plans to cover a total of 2,300 km of important roadways in four shifts.

The Municipality has also created operational plans to swiftly respond to reports and assign the required human and logistical resources for the collection and transportation of garbage along the route in order to efficiently address any emergency that may arise. Additionally, the crew will be responsible for cleaning up accident scenes on public roads and highways.

The integrated waste management plan has been developed by Dubai Municipality. The goal of this strategy is to maintain the highest levels of quality for hygienic services and operations in the Dubai emirate all year long, including during the emirate's many events and vacations. This aligns with the Municipality's goal of providing the best possible tourist, recreational, and living experiences to all of its citizens and guests.

Due to cleaning activities for the Eid Al Fitr holiday, the Dubai Municipality's garbage disposal and treatment facilities, including the Al Qusais landfill and the Bayada dump site, will have defined work hours. Over the Christmas season, these facilities are expected to be open nonstop. Furthermore, throughout the Eid Al Fitr holidays, the medical waste incinerator at the Jebel Ali Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility will run nonstop.

Seven distinct organisations are contracted to handle all activities, with three of them handling trash segregation and cleaning in public and residential areas. Two of them will be devoted to recycling and fulfilling the demands of the circular economy, while one company will handle the transportation of abandoned cars and another will maintain public health facilities.
