Dubai Metro Red Line will operate a Y junction beginning April 15 to eliminate the need for passengers to interchange at Jabal Ali metro station

NewsThe Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Wednesday that the Dubai Metro Red Line will run a Y junction (a meeting place of three railroads) starting on 15 April to do away with the requirement for passengers to change trains at the Jabal Ali metro station. As a result, passengers travelling from Centrepoint to UAE Exchange and the other way around won't have to descend to Jabal Ali Interchange Station to change trains.
As of now, travellers commuting from Centrepoint to UAE Exchange have to change trains at the Jabal Ali metro station in order to get to their destination. Passengers' commutes will be made easier with the termination of journeys from Expo 2020 and UAE Exchange at Centrepoint. Trains will run in pairs starting on April 15; one rail will proceed directly to Expo 2020 and the other will end at UAE Exchange. RTA stated that the "seamless journey from Centrepoint directly to UAE Exchange Station and Expo 2020 Station without the hassle of switching trains at Jabal Ali Station" will be guaranteed by this new system (Y junction).
RTA stated that "extra staff will be deployed to guide and educate the passengers before and after the implementation for a few weeks in order to avoid confusion." Additionally, when train arrivals and departures, information about the terminal station will be regularly spoken and clearly displayed on passenger digital information screens.
