Dubai International Airport is all set for a remarkable surge in visitors during the peak holiday season

The largest and most connected international airport in the world, Dubai International Airport (DXB), has declared that it is prepared for peak season and will be able to accommodate a wide variety of services over the holiday season. Between December 15 and December 31, DXB is expected to handle 4.4 million people via its doors, with an average of 258,000 passengers passing through each day.

The hub is getting ready for a remarkable surge in visitors on Friday, December 22, the airport's biggest day, when an estimated 279,000 people are expected to arrive. Due to its increasing popularity as a winter destination, Dubai is expected to see a spike in arrivals over the final two weekends of the year. Half a million passengers, mostly from point-to-point travel, are expected to arrive over the course of six days from December 22 to 24 and from December 29 to 31.

The airport will have a number of events spread out over Terminals 1, 2, and 3. These include the chance for kids to meet Santa and his elves and receive special gifts, as well as a 3D photo opportunity inside a giant snow globe and visits from a variety of festive performers who will be passing out chocolates and other gifts.
