NewsOn Saturday, the Abu Dhabi Police warned motorists about the risks associated with leaving their cars running while getting out of them. The police, in an awareness video, highlighted a habit that drivers have when they pull into gas stations, ATMs, or mosques. Many drivers frequently leave their cars running in park mode because they believe tasks like praying, getting a snack, or getting cash out will not take much time.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate issued a warning that engaging in such behaviour might result in the vehicle catching fire or being stolen.
A Dh500 fine is imposed for disregarding traffic signs and regulations, according to the police.
