Drife, touted to be the UAE’s first decentralised ride-hailing platform, has been licensed to operate in Dubai

A taxi platform that operates in Dubai and employs an auction-based pricing approach has been offered the licence to operate. "Lower prices for riders and higher incomes for drivers" is the outcome of this strategy as it does away with the commission procedure. Drife allows consumers to select their preferred fare from a variety of drivers and is billed as the first decentralised ride-hailing platform in the United Arab Emirates. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) sets a minimum charge for each ride, which is usually thirty percent more than ordinary tariffs. In addition to charging the usual cost, drivers might choose to charge a premium or give discounts.

The platform ensures that the driver receives 100% of the amount paid by the rider by operating on a zero-commission fee structure. As a result, drivers can increase their revenue and provide riders with savings. The platform will begin with 1,000 taxis when it starts later this month. Interested drivers may register for the platform by downloading the app and following the instructions. They have to turn in their RTA card, driver's licence, and Emirates ID. To guarantee security and safety, the business runs "independent background checks" on its drivers.

The business claims to provide "taxi 3.0 services. In Taxi 3.0, the driver, the market, and the community are in charge—nobody else is. Prices are determined by the market; drivers simply need to pay a membership fee to utilise the site; there are no commissions. The drivers are the ones who get paid for each ride. Experiences with ride-hailing may be more individualised and tailored because of this direct connection.
