Dewa called on customers to undertake necessary measures during the rain to avoid any internal interruptions and ensure safety

Customers were urged by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) on Wednesday to take the appropriate precautions during the rainy season to prevent internal disruptions and guarantee the security and continuous provision of water and electricity. The power services provider emphasized how crucial it is to hire a qualified expert to do routine maintenance.

The warning is issued as another round of medium to heavy rain is predicted for the UAE on Wednesday and Thursday. On April 16, record rains fell across Dubai and its neighboring emirates, causing flooding and property damage to numerous homes. Tenants and building owners can lessen damage during severe downpours by acting promptly.

Residents of Dubai were urged to use water-proof outlets and fixtures to secure any exposed connections. Customers were also requested to confirm that all electrical cabinets were closed and that all connections were correctly earthed. According to Dewa, in order to prevent any problems caused by rain, all spare conduits on rooftops should be blocked, as should any damaged meter windows.
