Burj Khalifa displayed temperatures from 1.0 to 2.0 degrees Celsius, with colours turning blue to red

As a reminder to the world of its commitment to climate change, Dubai's Burj Khalifa transformed into a massive thermometer on Thursday night. In a breathtaking display, the highest tower in the world showed temperatures ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 degrees Celsius, accompanied by hue changes from blue to red. With only a week remaining for COP28 climate summit, the United Arab Emirates is all ready to greet the globe.

The nation ensured that its message is clear: “We have to act now.”

“We must act now. And keep 1.5 degrees Celsius in reach,” it added.

The cutoff point established to lessen the consequences of global warming has long been 1.5C. The globe committed to "limiting temperature increase to above 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial times" under the terms of the 2015 Paris Agreement. However, it was not maintained. That is one of the numerous environmental issues that this COP28 in the UAE aims to solve.

“Action builds hope. Hope inspires action. Action delivers action,” the COP28 UAE said in its message on Burj Khalifa.
