Buhais Geology Park in Sharjah adds valuable insights to the archeological research of the Arabian Peninsula

A historically noteworthy location that shed light on the secrets of earlier civilizations, which contributes significantly to our understanding of the Arabian Peninsula's archaeology is Buhais Geology Park in Sharjah. The Park draws specialists, geologists, and researchers in order to get a deeper knowledge of the ancient occupants of the region and to obtain a comprehensive picture of early human settlement in the United Arab Emirates. It is an outdoor museum showcasing archaeological antiques and ruins.

The Buhais Geology Park offers historical proof of the formation of the surrounding environment at least 93 million years ago. From a geological standpoint, the site has an abundance of fossilised remnants of several ancient marine species that lived in the shallow oceans that buried much of the UAE's land until very recently. The fourth season of the UAE's "World's Coolest Winter" campaign, with the theme "Unforgettable Stories," is now showcasing the attraction.

In 2020, Buhais Geology Park was opened as an ecotourism endeavour with the goal of educating tourists about the geological past of Sharjah, the significance of Jebel Buhais, and the adjacent historic sites. It offers visitors the chance to see exhibits in the halls and stroll around the garden on paths intended to highlight the formation of notable geological features like the Hajar Mountain range, other mountains, gravel plains, and dunes. It also houses fossils that date back millions of years.

The Architecture Masterprize 2020 Award for Cultural Architecture (AMP), which honours originality and ingenuity in the disciplines of interior, landscape, and architectural design, went to Buhais Geology Park.
