An innovative project to facilitate the electronic uploading of health insurance policies has been officially announced

The ground-breaking initiative to enable the electronic uploading of health insurance plans has been formally launched by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security. This effort will make the application process easier and more efficient for clients looking to renew their residence permits. It came into effect on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Through a secure interface with these organisations, the initiative enables health insurance policies issued by recognised health insurance providers in the United Arab Emirates to be submitted electronically immediately. 

Residents would no longer have to manually submit their insurance policies when requesting the renewal of their family members' and their own residence permits.
