NewsMany firms in UAE are providing their employees with 'parent-friendly' services, such as free on-site childcare facilities and assistance with the transition back into the workforce for new mothers.
The Parent-Friendly Label (PFL) has been awarded to several UAE-based businesses for their parent-friendly policies and practices. These businesses include Visa, HSBC Bank, Masdar, Emirates Nature-WWF, Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, Tappy Toes Nursery, and Silal.
Through the PFL, a voluntary award program that is available nationwide, semi-governmental, commercial, and third-sector companies can be recognised for their dedication to establishing supportive work cultures and policies that assist children ages 0 to 8.
The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) launched the third cycle of its Parent-friendly Label program earlier this year, and until September 2, 2024, organisations nationwide are welcome to apply.
A total of 75 companies from 23 distinct industries submitted applications for the label for Cycle 2. 19% of applications were from educational institutions, the largest category, followed by 15 percent from professional services organisations, 8 percent from banks and financial institutions, and 15 percent from educational institutions.
