A new Thukher Club for senior citizens to be established in Dubai; community hub providing a wide range of facilities to senior citizens

In Dubai, a brand-new club aimed at enhancing older adults' quality of life and well-being will shortly open. The creation of a new Thukher Club for senior people in Dubai's Al Khawaneej neighbourhood was directed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and people Affairs. The club will act as a community centre, offering older folks a variety of amenities.

The club, which will be constructed across 20,000 square feet, will have a wellness facility with customised training and nutrition programmes. With a theatre, library, and smart platforms to facilitate elderly residents' easy access to government services, it will function as a social and cultural centre. Through an interactive café, the facility will also promote relationships between generations.

Three primary portions of the new Thukher Club facility will provide complete services for elderly adults with an emphasis on improving well-being, health and fitness, and greater community ties. Promoting physical health, a healthy diet, and social and cultural enrichment are the goals of the clubs that have been established under the programme. The Dubai Public Libraries' branches, which offer both traditional and digital library services, are also included.
