WhatsApp Channels, a broadcast service that enables people to receive private updates from favourite personalities they follow, is now being rolled out in UAE

The UAE is now a part of the region's rollout of WhatsApp Channels. It is a broadcast service that lets users follow their favourite thought leaders, musicians, sports teams, and celebrities and get private updates from them directly on WhatsApp. Channels are a one-way broadcasting mechanism that allows administrators to communicate text, images, videos, stickers, and polls, claims Moon Baz. Users may find channels on a new page on WhatsApp called Updates, which is different from their chats with family, friends, and communities. on this tab, users can see their status and the channels they want to follow.

In the upcoming weeks and months, WhatsApp Channels will be accessible to all users worldwide. The software will allow anyone with a WhatsApp account to start a channel. On the app, conversations and channels are distinct from one another, and followers cannot see one another. Users' phone numbers won't be disclosed to the admin or other viewers on the channel. It is their individual option that they choose to follow. Based on their location and popularity, users will be able to view suggested WhatsApp Channels. Emojis will also be available for them to utilise in a manner similar to WhatsApp chat when responding to messages in a channel. Based on user input, Meta will continue to develop Channels and introduce new features.

Channel updates won't be available indefinitely. Up to 30 days' worth of channel history will be kept on Meta's servers. The ability to ban screenshots and forwards from their channel will also be available to admins. The admins will have control over who may subscribe to their channel and if they want it to be searchable in the directory.

The essential features you need to know on Channels:

Enhanced Directory: where you may find channels to subscribe to that are automatically sorted based on your country. Additionally, you may browse the most recent, active, and well-liked channels according to the number of followers.

Reactions: Emojis may be used to respond and provide comments, and you can also check how many people have done so overall. Followers won't see how you respond.

Forwarding: Every time you forward an Update to chats or groups, a link back to the channel is also included so that people may learn more.

People may start following WhatsApp's hundreds of new partners, which include Olivia Rodrigo, Netflix, David Guetta, Billboard, MLB, and more.
