NewsAs part of a brand-new project dubbed "Zayed, the benevolent" to commemorate Humanitarian Day in the UAE, residents and citizens will receive free medical treatments.
The caravan will travel to each of the seven emirates, starting today in Abu Dhabi.
With the tagline "Don't let them worry," the campaign got off to a strong start thanks to the involvement of many UAE doctors as well as specialised health volunteers. It offers free medical care and education to help less fortunate populations.
It is introduced in conjunction with the Emirates Platform and Programme for Volunteers as well as the Emirates Programme for Young Humanitarian Leaders.
The annual celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Day on the 19th of Ramadan honours the high ideals and enduring human values that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan left behind.
According to Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, President of Emirates Giving, and President of Emirates Doctors, the initiative aims to recruit young people and give them the tools they need to use these field hospitals and mobile clinics to offer the best health and educational services in a voluntary setting.
These convoys, he continued, are a continuation of the 2000-launched Zayed Giving Initiative. Millions of individuals from all around the world have heard the initiative's message of love and generosity.
He emphasised that, under the direction of smart leadership, the act of giving has become a priority across levels and is not only an attribute in the United Arab Emirates.
The Emirates Community and Professional Volunteering Programme, according to Al Shamri, strives to strengthen the culture of volunteerism and humanitarian giving while also igniting collaborations between various government and corporate sectors.
The two main topics of the "Zayed, the benevolent" caravans are. First, to emphasise the need of social duty, and second, to firmly establish the notion of goodness across society.
Dr. Noura Al Kindi, one of the young humanitarian leaders in the Emiratis, told Khaleej Times that the caravans will present hundreds of notable volunteer activities and other comprehensive health awareness programmes that will support and promote community and voluntary values.
According to her, the convoy would stop at government buildings, centres for the elderly and strong-willed individuals, labour camps, sporting events, and other residential neighbourhoods across the nation.
Al Kindi claimed that today in Abu Dhabi, caravans experienced real engagement and were treated to a distinguished welcome and attendance.
