MOHRE announced a new toll-free number for registering labour complaints in UAE

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) recently announced through its official social media platforms that the UAE now has a new toll-free hotline for submitting labour grievances. For any labor-related complaints or legal advice, employees and employers in the United Arab Emirates can now contact the Labour Claims and Advisory call centre at the toll-free number 800 84.

The number04 6659999 that was previously in use has been discontinued from October 12. Employees and employers in the UAE can use the hotline to file new labour complaints, monitor existing complaints, and get advice on the Federal Decree-law No. 33 of 2021, which is the UAE's labour code. The toll-free line is offered in Urdu, Arabic, and English. The contact centre is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday is its closing day.

It is crucial to comprehend the provisions of the UAE's Labour Law pertaining to the registration of labour infractions in order to file a complaint with MOHRE against an employer.

Register your complaint soon:

First and foremost, it's crucial to remember that you should register your complaint as soon as possible if you do have a problem with your employer that you would want MOHRE to resolve. This is because, in accordance with Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021, the UAE Labour Law, no claim for any rights owed will be considered more than a year after the date of the infringement.

You have the option to work for another business while the lawsuit is pending:

You can apply to MOHRE for a temporary work permit throughout the court case so that you can continue working for another employer until the matter is settled.

After completing this, the employee must reapply for a visa and permission to ensure that their stay in the UAE is lawful and free of fines.

There is no cost to file a complaint:

For claims under Dh100,000, employees or their heirs are excused from paying court costs at all stages of litigation and execution under Article 55 of the UAE Labour Law.

Outside of call centre hours, you can reach MOHRE online by using the "MOHRE" app, which is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones, or by contacting MOHRE through their 600590000 WhatsApp account.
