Logos Hope, the worlds largest floating book fair, was inaugurated at Mina Zayed Port

The largest floating book expo in the world, Logos Hope, is back in the capital of the UAE. After the ship anchored at Mina Zayed Port, the expo was officially opened by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), a division of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT - Abu Dhabi). A selection of more than 5,000 volumes are available to bibliophiles at this free exhibition, which is open until June 4. And what's unique about Logos Hope is that it has a crew of worldwide volunteers from over 65 different countries who are all committed to the same goal: bringing education, assistance, and hope to people.

Vlad has travelled to a lot of places as the Master of Logos Hope. But after flying from Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, to the current capital of the UAE, where he encountered hundreds of different nationalities in malls and on the streets, he felt humbled. 

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman, DCT – Abu Dhabi; Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO, Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group; Sebastian Moncayo, advance preparation project manager for Abu Dhabi at the Logos Hope exhibition; and other officials from the culture and tourism sector, attended the opening ceremony.

Several workshops, talks, interactive sessions, and cultural activities will be hosted onboard the ship throughout the course of the following two weeks. A workshop on reading children's literature led by author Dr. Fatima Al Mazrouei, a workshop on Arabic calligraphy led by Saeed Al Amiri, a book discussion led by members of the ALC Reading Club, and a workshop on the history of literature and music led by Iman Al Hashemi are all part of the ALC's programming. A group of volunteers gave a traditional South Korean dance performance during the ceremony's opening.
