Dubai has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa, 9th globally in the list of the worlds best city brands.

NewsIn the ranking of the top city brands in the world, Dubai came in first place in the Middle East and Africa and ninth overall. The emirate got 75.8 out of 100 points in the first Brand Finance City Index, which was announced on Thursday, beating out cities like Amsterdam, Miami, Toronto, Barcelona, Rome, Chicago, Melbourne, Zurich, Boston, Geneva, Vienna, Vancouver, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and a host of others.
In the first ranking of 100 cities, London came out on top, followed by New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, San Francisco, Dubai, and Amsterdam. Karachi, Kyiv, Mumbai, Dhaka, Bangalore, New Delhi, Nairobi, Nanjing, Hanoi, and Tel Aviv are the cities with the lowest rankings, in that order.
In April, 15,000 participants from 20 nations on all continents participated in the poll. People were questioned about each city's reputation generally and if they personally thought it would be a good place to live, work locally, work remotely, study, retire, visit, or invest. In addition to the study of preferences across these seven dimensions, 45 underlying city brand elements, categorised into seven pillars like business and investment or sustainability and transportation, were also considered.
Dubai, one of the first cities to open and recover from the coronavirus pandemic, has been making headlines throughout the world for being dubbed the social media capital of the world.
As the UAE Capital did well in business and investment, Abu Dhabi, which was placed 28th internationally, was named the second best city brand in the area. It grabbed the top ranks internationally in a number of categories, including the second-most lucrative corporate taxes, the third-most attractive personal taxation, the fourth-most business-friendly environment, the seventh-best place for start-ups and innovation, and the ninth-easiest environment for job seekers.
