ADAFSA launches the ‘One Health Biosecurity Programme’ to enhance integration between human, animal, plant and environmental health

The "One Health Biosecurity Programme" has been introduced by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) to improve the integration of environmental, animal, plant, and human health. The Programme consists of eight activities designed to monitor the environmental, plant, animal, and human health conditions in Abu Dhabi in order to develop an efficient surveillance system.

To detect and evaluate risks and implement the appropriate preventative and corrective actions, data analysis is part of this process. The program's main objectives are to create policies and actions based on plans and initiatives to stop the spread of illnesses and epidemics, raise public awareness of the need for biosecurity, and train cadres in best practices to preserve natural resources from overuse and pollution.

Additionally, the initiative seeks to make integration easier in a number of areas, such as industry, education, agriculture, health, and the environment. It promotes the sharing of data and information across stakeholders in order to create collaborative plans and programmes that align with the initiative's strategic goals.
