
The UAE's air has seen a dramatic decrease in levels of a major pollutant in just one year, According to a survey that rates nations based on air quality.
According to the Swiss company IQAir's 2024 World Air Quality Report, concentrations of the smallest sort of particulate matter have decreased by more than a fifth, even though they are still higher than the WHO's recommended values.
Since the 2023 report, which focuses on levels of PM2.5, or particulate matter up to 2.5 micrometers in diameter, the UAE has improved by 10 spots to rank 17th globally in terms of nations with the worst air pollution.
In just one year, the PM2.5 concentration in the United Arab Emirates has decreased from 43 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3) to 33.7 µg/m3. Only seven of the 138 nations examined in the report met the WHO's recommended level of 5 µg/m3.
