UAE citizens in Dubai can obtain the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment’s housing grants exchange service

The Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment's housing grants exchange service is now available to UAE nationals in Dubai, thanks to a fresh update to the DubaiNow programme. Citizens may now exchange grants, land plots, and residential units among themselves via the Emirati platform inside the app, providing the residential properties intended for exchange are available and match the service restrictions.

According to a news statement issued by the Dubai Media Office on Tuesday, the digital service is part of Dubai's Digital City Experiences project, as well as the collaborative efforts of Dubai's government agencies to convert the emirate into a worldwide digital economy capital. The Digital City Experiences programme intends to provide value for users by proactively developing and implementing seamless digital city services through unified platforms.

The programme aims to consolidate these services into an end-to-end system that is user-focused and simple to use, signifying a significant improvement in Dubai's digital quality of life. The debut of the housing grant exchange service follows the great demand from Dubai inhabitants for utilising the Emirati platform, especially after Digital Dubai added 16 more services as part of the platform's second phase, bringing the total number of offered services to 170.

The successful first phase, launched as an initiative of the Dubai Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, is now available as part of the DubaiNow app.

The Housing Grant Exchange service seeks to govern grant exchanges in collaboration with partner bodies, provided the applicant has not already swapped land or housing from Dubai Municipality or the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. The service strives to protect all parties' legal rights, with housing exchanges handled directly by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. A combined team comprised of officials from various departments and entities in Dubai carried out the project. They were entrusted with developing rules and regulations that define the service based on a review of previous instances, the present state of grants and assigned lands, and indicators important to service delivery. Following that, the team created a regulatory framework to manage issues such as eligibility, utilisation, and service integration among appropriate institutions, as well as service supply via digital channels.

The newly established service provides a set of controls connected to the exchange of land grants and dwelling units, including the exchange's integrity and fairness, the parties' permission, and the absence of any legal obstructions or mortgages that prohibit the exchange from taking place.
