Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the enhancement of eight marine transport stations to align with the Dubai Universal Design Code, ensuring accessibility for People of Determination.
The upgrades, finalized in 2024, include improved night-time lighting, the installation of handrails and handgrips, enhanced flooring with safety and security markings, and the addition of loudspeakers to assist individuals with hearing challenges.
These improvements aim to provide accessible services for all community members, supporting Dubai's vision of becoming a city friendly to People of Determination.
In addition to these upgrades, the RTA has resumed marine transport operations in areas like the Water Canal and Business Bay, following enhancement works.
The RTA remains committed to making all facilities and public transport services accessible and inclusive, aligning with the Dubai Government’s vision of creating a city friendly to People of Determination.
