NewsThe pioneering endeavour of documenting 17 centuries of Arabic language history by the Sharjah Ruler has added thirty-one more volumes. Just in time for the SIBF this year, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council, unveiled the latest volumes of the Historical Corpus of the Arabic Language on Tuesday. New volumes published by Al Qasimi Publications concentrate on six letters: Dad (ض), Sad (ص), Sheen (ش), Zay (ز), Ra (ر), and Seen (س).
The presidents of the unions and councils of 14 language academies from 12 different countries, the Board of Trustees, and other ALA members were present as the Sharjah Ruler made the announcement. In addition to thanking the leaders of the Arab language unions and academies, Sheikh Dr. Sultan praised the work of everyone associated with the initiative.
Every time the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is held, new volumes of the corpus are often issued. The corpus is one of the most significant scientific and knowledge-based language endeavours designed to support Arabic language research, documentation, and study.
