Sheikh Hamdan approved a comprehensive vision for the creation of model neighbourhoods throughout Dubai

The Executive Council of Dubai's Chairman and Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today authorised a comprehensive plan for the development of model communities across the whole city of Dubai. This is consistent with a number of programmes designed to enhance the quality of life for Dubai residents, reflecting the major goal of the government to provide the greatest standard of living. 11,500 plots of land have been designated for housing Dubai residents as part of the new concept. The approval of home loans totalling Dh7 billion, which are expected to benefit almost 7,000 applicants, strengthens this enormous commitment to residential construction even further.

The Crown Prince also disclosed a significant increase in budgetary allocations, indicating his understanding of the need to assist the city's most needy residents. A specific fund of Dh70 million would be set aside for persons of determination, while annual allowances for low-income people will increase to Dh438 million. Additionally, the government will start a scheme to facilitate better health care for older residents, which is anticipated to help 19,000 people.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, unceasing work is being done to ensure a successful present and a bright future for the residents of Dubai and their offspring. The new programmes constitute a sizable investment in the social and community growth of the area, assuring Dubai's continued success as a premier metropolis. This was when Dubai's Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs met under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan.

Members of the Committee gave Sheikh Hamdan an update on their most recent successes and endeavours to improve the social and familial stability of the populace, thand eir standard of living, and give young people meaningful possibilities at the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council and members of the Committee: Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs; Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of Dubai’s Community Development Authority; Major General Talal Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Director-General of the State Security Department in Dubai; Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Saeed Al Eter, Director-General of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director-General of the Dubai Digital Authority; Abdullah Ali Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General, Dubai Government Human Resources Department; and Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation.

Sheikh Hamdan was informed of the Committee's successes in the first year following its inception as well as given an overview of several significant upcoming initiatives intended to improve the quality of life and foster social stability for Dubai's residents. He gave the Committee members instructions to keep up the good work and commit all available resources to assist UAE people in accordance with Dubai's comprehensive sustainable development strategy.

A revised concept for model residential neighbourhoods that provide investment possibilities is one of these programmes and efforts. Al Mizhar 1, Al Khawaneej 2, and Al Barsha 2 were all included in the project's initial phase.

The Committee also introduced the 'Bayt' social project, which seeks to assist low-income Dubai residents who have obtained housing grants but still need money for house construction or completion and furnishing in order to lessen their financial burden.

Seasonal investment possibilities were made available through occasions like Farmers' Souq and Souq Al Freej in order to encourage Emirati SME owners who get to display and advertise their homemade goods as well as to bring together Emirati farmers to sell their produce directly to customers.

In order to improve their inclusion and empowerment while giving them the stability and support they need to effectively contribute to the community and its development, Sheikh Hamdan instructed the Committee to increase financial support for people of determination to D70 million for the year 2023.

The Committee oversaw the employment of 2,000 Emiratis in 2022 as part of the plan to accelerate Emiratization. It also launched its "Investment Opportunities" initiative and a centralised investment platform for UAE nationals, offering 500 new investment opportunities across different areas of Dubai.

Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan unveiled the "Emirati" concept, a comprehensive single-window system created especially to provide UAE residents with all the municipal services they require via the DubaiNow application. The "Emirati" initiative's initial phase gives individuals access to a range of digital services, including grants for housing and building, social benefits, neighbourhood activities, the Esaad card, land allocations, and more.

Other programmes include the "Riayah" project, which offers comprehensive healthcare services specifically designed for older persons and people of determination, and the "Respite Care" programme, which offers short-term relief for main carers of senior citizens and people of determination. With the intention of improving elderly residents' quality of life by offering them comprehensive services and chances to share their knowledge and experience, the Thukher Social Club was established in Dubai Safa Park.

According to a defined strategy built upon many pillars, the Committee seeks to offer comprehensive assistance for UAE residents of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to accomplish the goals outlined by Sheikh Mohammed. The Committee has initiated many projects in conjunction with commercial, governmental, and semi-public groups as part of putting Sheikh Mohammed's vision into action, in addition to working closely with necessary authorities to guarantee service delivery.
