Scholarship programme launched by Dubai’s Crown Prince to support outstanding Emirati graduates in Dubai

A scholarship scheme for exceptional Emirati graduates from Dubai's public and private schools has been started by the Crown Prince of Dubai. Dh1.1 billion has been allotted by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Academic Scholarship Programme to help deserving Emirati school graduates pursue higher education. Applications for the 2024–2025 academic year will be accepted beginning April 2024. The scheme will sponsor 100 students yearly.

Students can apply by utilising the 'Emarati' symbol on the DubaiNow platform, which is run by the Dubai Digital Authority. The terms and conditions established by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) will apply to the selection criteria. The application period will coincide with the release of high school diplomas, accounting for variations in curriculum timelines.

The programme is a part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which was introduced by Dubai's ruler and UAE vice president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The program's goal is to provide higher education opportunities at prestigious academic institutions to Dubai's top-performing Emirati students. The goal is to ensure that Dubai's brightest students obtain the best advanced education and career training while also helping to develop a workforce fit for the future through a variety of higher education platforms.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed confidence in the potential of ambitious and high-achieving students to create Dubai's future, emphasising the crucial role they play in the purpose of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. Over the last two academic years, he has been identifying Dubai's top 25 high school pupils.

The students that received this honour were chosen from a wide variety of Dubai-based institutions and curriculum. The new initiative will supplement the existing scholarship programme by providing an extra 75 scholarships, which will assist 100 deserving students each year.

The Hamdan bin Mohammed Academic Scholarship Programme supports the accomplishment of two primary strategic goals in line with Dubai Social Agenda 33. First, by 2033, it hopes to place Dubai in the top 10 cities in the world for quality of education. The programme has been purposefully developed to foster outstanding future leaders who will drive innovation across several industries, therefore making a substantial contribution to Dubai's knowledge-based economy in the future. The project is also intended to offer scholarships to students attending esteemed foreign institutions for specific courses that align with Dubai's economic requirements.
