The completion date of the eagerly awaited new Dubai Metro line has been confirmed by the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai. The RTA has announced that Sunday, September 9, 2029, will mark the completion of the 30-kilometer Blue Line.
It will provide much-needed transportation to some of the most crowded parts of the emirate and will include a total of 14 additional stations, nine above ground and five below. At Centrepoint Station and Al Khor Station, the Dubai Metro Blue Line will link up with the Red Line and Green Line, respectively. Al Rashidya, Al Warqa, Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, Festival City, International City, Marsa, Dubai Creek, and Academic City will all be on its itinerary.
The precise completion date was revealed after the transport authorities confirmed Dhs20.5 billion contracts with three companies to construct it.
The project will be constructed by a collaboration of Chinese construction giant CRRC and Turkish companies MAPA and Limak. When finished, it will utilize 28 trains and have an hourly capacity of 46,000 people in both directions. 200,000 passengers per day are anticipated by 2030, and as Dubai continues to expand, that number is expected to rise to 320,000 passengers by 2040.
