UAE government has mandated installing advanced fire extinguishing systems on all school buses

To improve safety, the UAE government has required that all school buses have state-of-the-art fire extinguishing equipment installed. Buses must have systems for automatic extinguishing and quick engine fire detection, according to the rule, which went into effect on April 15.

According to the relevant Emirates Road Transport Authorities, permits for school buses without a MoIAT-certified system will no longer be granted or renewed after April 15, 2025.

Although school buses are the focus of this initiative's first phase, it is important to remember that this law is not just applicable to school transportation. All new and used buses with a passenger capacity of more than 22, including the driver, that travel throughout the United Arab Emirates must adhere to the standard. This includes single-deck, double-deck, rigid, and articulated vehicles.
