Streaming platform Netflix has raised its subscription rates in the UAE, with some customers set to pay up to Dh10 more each month.
The revised prices will come into effect on December 23, according to a notification sent to users. The increase varies depending on the chosen plan.
Subscribers on the 'standard' plan — which offers full-HD streaming on two devices simultaneously — will now be charged Dh49 per month, up from the previous Dh39.
For those on the 'premium' plan, which includes ultra-HD streaming on up to four devices, the price will rise from Dh62 to Dh71 monthly.
Meanwhile, 'basic' plan users will not face any price hike. The cost for this plan, which allows HD streaming on a single device, remains unchanged at Dh35.
- Log in to your Netflix account at netflix.com (You will be taken to your account overview page.)
- Click on 'Change plan' (indicated by a star icon) on the main screen.
- Select the plan you want and confirm your choice.
If you downgrade your plan, the reduced price will apply starting from your next billing cycle, but you can continue enjoying the features of your current higher-tier plan until the end of the billing period.
For those upgrading their plans, the charges will be calculated based on the remaining balance of the previous payment, plus pro-rata fees for the new plan. Upgraded features, however, will be available immediately.
