Careem has started a unique program to provide Indian citizens the opportunity to win gold during Diwali.
A gold voucher worth one gram of 24-carat gold, depending on the rate from Thursday, October 10, will be awarded to anybody using Careem Pay to deposit Dhs50,000 or more to India until Thursday, October 31.
Giving gold as a gift at Diwali is a long-standing custom that is said to bring luck and wealth all year long. Large amounts of money are frequently sent home as gifts by Indian expatriates to their relatives in the UAE, with the Diwali season seeing particularly high increases in these transfers.
Diwali's first day, Dhanteras, sees a significant increase in gold sales every year. Diwali falls on Friday, November 1, while Dhanteras falls on Tuesday, October 29 this year.
