Dubai's highways will soon be lined with self-driving taxis. These taxis will be available in the emirate by 2026 with the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) increased collaborations with suppliers of autonomous driving technology.
Through its autonomous mobility division, Apollo Go, the Uber platform will introduce the AVs in Dubai in collaboration with Uber Technologies, WeRide, and China's Baidu.
This project contributes to RTA's overarching plan to position Dubai as a global leader in autonomous transportation and advances its goal of becoming the world's smartest city and greatest place to live and work.
